Chibindo

This is the first poster in my What’s In An Igbo Name? series, and I had to start with my own name, Chibindo, which means God is my shelter. I’ve always loved my name and how unique it is. My mom made sure I knew exactly what it meant, and that stuck with me. Even when people struggled to say it right, I was never ashamed because I knew the power it held.

Igbo names are more than just names; they tell stories, hold prayers, and carry history. This design is a reflection of blending typography, cultural symbolism, and personal meaning into something you can hang up as a statement piece. Whether you’re celebrating your own Igbo heritage, love meaningful design, or just want to learn something new, this piece was made to spark conversation.
